Dr. Hermann: There are many in-office procedures that have been touted to reduce fat. A lot of them don't work. But CoolSculpting is one that does.
I found CoolSculpting to be a nice alternative to liposuction for people that want to reduce fat in certain areas. But what's the difference? Well, for one, CoolSculpting is not surgery. It is an in-office procedure that is non-invasive. The nice thing about CoolSculpting is that there is really no recovery to it unlike surgery. Also, there's really no complication rate to CoolSculpting. It is a nice alternative for people who don't want to have surgery but do want to reduce fat.
With CoolSculpting, you will need at least two sessions to get the results you want. Sometimes more but typically two is the standard. The standard CoolSculpting session lasts about 30 to 40 minutes but can be dependent on if you're doing just one area or a bilateral area like both hips.
It should be said, however, that liposuction still is the gold standard for removing fat. But if you don't have time for surgery, if you don't have time for your recovery, CoolSculpting is a very nice option.
