Breast Lift
A Breast Lift Can Address the Effects of:
Pregnancy
Although pregnancy and motherhood are joyful times, they can cause unwanted changes throughout your body. If your breasts lose volume or start sagging after you stop breastfeeding, a breast lift can address these issues.Weight Loss
Weight loss is also an exciting journey, but it can cause sagging skin. A breast lift can tighten the skin around your bust line, helping you achieve a more proportional figure.Other Imperfections
Many women struggle with sagging or uneven breasts their whole lives. A breast lift can correct these cosmetic issues and give you the improved silhouette you've always wanted. What happens during the breast lift procedure?

Requirements & Recommendations for Plastic Surgery Candidates
If you are interested in undergoing a breast lift, Dr. Hermann will conduct a consultation to determine if the procedure is right for you. Ideal candidates for a breast lift include patients who are:
- Non-smokers
- At a healthy weight
- In good overall health
- Over the age of 18
- Not wishing to have more children
- Finished breastfeeding
- Need a lift, but not extensive tissue removal, to achieve their goals
If you are planning to have more children, we recommend that you postpone a breast lift, since pregnancy and childbirth can affect your results and require revision surgery.
A breast lift can also be combined with other procedures such as a tummy tuck or liposuction into a comprehensive plan such as a mommy makeover.
But isn't breast surgery painful?
We Offer General Anesthesia to Ensure Your Comfort
In order to help you remain comfortable during the procedure, our team will administer general anesthesia. This type of sedation allows you to remain fully unconscious during the procedure so that you have no memory of the surgery when you wake up.

More Information About Breast Lifts
Dr. Hermann can perform a breast lift surgery at his Denton, TX, practice to rejuvenate a sagging bustline. This procedure can restore the firm, youthful contours that are often compromised by significant weight loss, pregnancy, nursing, and aging. If you wish to achieve a lift and improve projection, Dr. Hermann can combine a breast lift with breast augmentation. As an experienced surgeon who has trained with some of the most respected practitioners in the field, Dr. Herman can give you enhancements that help you feel beautiful and confident.
What to Expect
During the consultation, you and Dr. Hermann will discuss your personal cosmetic goals and concerns, and customize a treatment plan to suit your individual needs. He will also review your medical history and administer a detailed examination in order to determine your candidacy. Dr. Hermann will provide you with preoperative and postoperative instructions to help you experience a smooth recovery and optimal results.
Each patient responds to surgery differently, but in most cases, you can return to work and daily activity in about three weeks.
Once candidacy is confirmed and a treatment plan formulated, Dr. Hermann will schedule your procedure. Before surgery, he will administer general anesthesia to maintain your comfort throughout the procedure.
As with a breast reduction, Dr. Hermann will use the short scar technique as opposed to the traditional angle pattern to minimize scarring. He will carefully lift and reshape your breast tissue, and trim excess skin. The nipple will be positioned higher on the breast to create a perky, youthful breast contour. If needed, the areolas will be reduced.
Dr. Hermann will close the incisions with barbed sutures and the DERMABOND® PRINEO® Skin Closure System to keep the incisions tight and prevent scarring. We also provide a compression garment to minimize swelling and inflammation. The length of your procedure will depend on the extent of refinement, whether you are receiving implants, and whether it is being combined with a breast augmentation or mommy makeover. In most cases, the procedure generally takes about two to three hours.
Recovery and Results
Dr. Hermann will carefully monitor your recovery over the course of the next few weeks to ensure you are healing properly. During this time, it is imperative to watch for any signs of infection. If you develop a fever, chills, excessive bleeding, intense pain, or excessive swelling, call our offices immediately.
Each patient responds to surgery differently, but in most cases, you can return to work and daily activity in about three weeks. Although you will notice a beautifully contoured bustline once the procedure is complete, you can expect a full recovery and desired results in about three months.
A Breast Lift with Implants Can Address Size and Contour
An augmentation mastopexy, or a breast lift with implants, is a procedure that can help enhance the volume and shape of your breasts in a single surgery. Using our in-office BodyLogic™ system, which precisely assesses your natural breasts and generates previews of your surgery outcomes, Dr. Hermann can help you determine the size and type of implant that will best help you achieve your desired results. Our office in Denton, TX, combines this state-of-the-art technology and a dedication to patient education to help you feel confident and comfortable about your upcoming cosmetic procedure.
Candidates for Surgery
To help you decide whether you need an augmentation alone, a breast lift on its own, or a breast lift complemented with implants, we will first assess the current condition of your breasts, review your areas of concern, and discuss your desired outcomes. A breast lift with implants can generally address:
- Age-related sagging
- Stretched or drooping areolas
- Asymmetrical breasts
- Disproportionately small breasts
- Loss in volume after weight loss
- Post-pregnancy concerns
As with any cosmetic surgery, you should be healthy and quit any habits that might conflict with your healing—such as smoking. Prior to surgery, Dr. Hermann and his staff will provide detailed instructions to help you feel prepared on the day of your procedure.
Your Initial Consultation
A breast lift alone will not add volume to your existing cup size. After a breast lift, some patients experience a loss in volume when excess skin is removed. These patients may choose to add implants to improve the shape, projection, and size of their chest. If you decide to add implants to your breast lift procedure, Dr. Hermann will provide insight on the advantages and disadvantages of each type of implant to choose one that is right for your needs and expectations.
Rather than recovering from two separate surgeries, patients who choose a breast lift with implants will only need to undergo one procedure.
Benefits of Breast Lift with Implants
Following a breast lift with implants, you can generally expect your breasts to be higher up on your chest, perkier in projection, and larger. Rather than undergoing a lift alone or an augmentation alone, there are some benefits to combining the procedures.
Dramatic Results
Combining two procedures in one helps you achieve more comprehensive results. In addition to addressing the size of your breasts, you can address cosmetic concerns such as the position and size of your areola, sagging skin, and projection, giving your physique a more contoured shape overall.
Consolidated Recovery
Rather than recovering from two separate surgeries, patients who choose a breast lift with implants will only need to undergo one procedure. This means that you can recover from both procedures during the same time period without taking time off of work for two separate surgeries and recoveries.
New or Expectant Mothers
If you are planning to have more children, it is recommended that you wait before considering a breast lift with implants. Pregnancy can dramatically change your body as well as reverse the effects of your procedure. New mothers should wait until they are done breastfeeding before scheduling any kind of breast surgery. An augmentation mastopexy can be performed on its own or as part of a mommy makeover, which combines breast and body contouring procedures to address your post-pregnancy concerns.
