Mommy Makeover Recovery The Post-Operative Healing Process
Initial Recovery Period
The recovery timeline and rate of recovery will depend on which mommy makeover procedures were performed. Since a tummy tuck is often part of a mommy makeover, patients will typically need to take at least two weeks off from work. Mommy makeover patients are also asked to avoid strenuous exercise for about six weeks.
Keep in mind that upon returning to work, your job duties may need to be modified, especially if any heavy lifting is involved. We'll provide detailed post-op instructions as part of your consultation.
Follow-Up Visits
As you heal, you will periodically return to our Denton office for a series of follow-up visits. The first appointment takes place within a week of your mommy makeover surgery, with additional visits in the weeks after.

After Six Weeks
By the end of six weeks, you should be able to resume most if not all normal activities. You'll be free of major side effects, and will notice an improved body contour and better-fitting clothes. Keep in mind that it can take up to a year for swelling to completely subside.
