HALO Laser Treatment
Are you unhappy with wrinkles and fine lines, dark spots, or other signs of aging on your skin?
We can rejuvenate your skin and refresh your appearance with HALO™ by Sciton®, the world’s first hybrid fractional laser.
Patients from Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Denton, TX, choose North Texas Breast & Plastic Surgery Center for this revolutionary treatment.
What Is the HALO Laser?
The HALO laser from Sciton is the first laser that combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to rejuvenate the skin.
- Ablative lasers remove the top layer of skin, reducing the appearance of imperfections like discoloration, scars, and fine lines and wrinkles. Ablative lasers produce dramatic results right away but typically require a recovery period of a few weeks.
- Non-ablative lasers send energy into the inner layers of skin, encouraging collagen production and stimulating the body's natural healing processes. Non-ablative laser treatment can improve the tone and texture of skin with minimal downtime, but a few sessions are usually required to produce ideal results.
Because the HALO hybrid fractional laser applies both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, you can enjoy the benefits of both types of laser treatments and the recovery is much quicker than typical ablative treatment. HALO treatment can greatly improve the appearance of your skin and give you a dramatic boost in self-confidence.

"Dr. Hermann is very caring and sensitive when dealing with plastic surgery issues. When you have skin cancers removed from your face, you certainly do not want to have it show. The issues were resolved and even though it has only been 1 1/2 weeks, the scar is barely noticed. He explained everything he was doing along the way and I was very comfortable with the entire procedure. The office staff are all friendly and caring. I will certainly use Dr. Hermann again should the need arise." - Cindy Lowe, 5-Star Rating, 2016
Enhance Your Results with BBL HERO
BBL HERO is the most advanced IPL technology available, working up to four times faster than other IPL systems. It is also more effective and more comfortable.
When you discuss skin resurfacing with our team, we will recommend whether HALO, BBL HERO, or a combination of both is the best option for you.
HALO Treatment Step-by-Step
A typical HALO session takes less than 90 minutes.
HALO Laser Treatment Recovery
Thanks to its unique dual-wavelength approach, HALO treatment involves shorter recovery times than most other laser skin resurfacing treatments.
Immediately following treatment, your skin will continue to feel warm for a few hours. We recommend keeping ice on the treatment area until the heat dissipates.
For two to three days after treatment, you may have some redness and minor swelling around the treatment area. Eventually, your skin will start to become flaky and crusty. This means the treatment is working! Dead skin is being expelled from your body and replaced by smoother, healthier, more even skin.
Within a week, your results should be evident. Sun damage and other visible signs of aging will be greatly reduced, and you'll have glowing skin that you'll be able to notice in the mirror and photos.

HALO Laser Treatment FAQ
Does HALO treatment hurt?
Laser treatment heats the skin, which can cause mild discomfort for some patients. We will apply a numbing gel to your skin before using the laser so any potential discomfort will be greatly reduced. At the conclusion of treatment, your skin will continue to feel hot for a few hours and your skin may feel a little sensitive. Ice packs can help you manage any discomfort for the rest of the day after your laser session.
Is HALO safe?
Yes. The laser is completely safe for use on the skin. If you want to treat the skin on your face, we will place protectors over your eyes to ensure that your vision is not affected by laser exposure.
Will I need multiple sessions?
A great benefit of HALO compared to other laser treatments is that exceptional results can usually be achieved after only one session. Some patients with high levels of discoloration or sun damage may require two treatments to achieve the results they desire. Most patients can wait about a year after HALO laser treatment before needing another session.
When will I see my results?
The results of HALO are usually evident about a week after treatment. After the redness of your skin softens and your skin stops flaking, you'll notice that the tone and texture of your skin are much more youthful.
How can I maintain my results?
For the best results, you should avoid heavy sun exposure for around a week after treatment. After that, you can keep your skin glowing with an anti-aging skin care regimen and daily use of sunscreen. You can also return to our practice periodically for touch-ups with the BBL HERO device.
Why does HALO make my skin flaky?
The non-ablative wavelengths of the HALO laser penetrate the epidermis and enter the dermis. The energy produced by the laser then causes the production of Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris (MENDs), which is essentially dead skin. The MENDs are pushed out of the skin, taking dark spots and other blemishes with them.
